Are you ready to experience the raw power of these untamed western torpedoes? If you are and you think that your arms and backs can withstand the assault of these upper teen to 30+ pound fish, then I challenge you to fly across the pond and experience the trip of a lifetime.

We are located in Madison, South Dakota 50 miles north of Sioux Falls and are surrounded by several scenic lakes containing thousands of untouched, unfished Carp. The fish are predominantly of the common variety, however, there are a few Mirror Carp in some of the lakes. Our main lake, Lake Herman is just 2.5 miles from the AmericInn where you will be staying. Other lakes in the immediate area include Lake Madison, Brant Lake and Lake Sinai. Just 40 miles north of Madison sits the very large Lake Thompson and contains Carp pushing the 30 pound barrier where 40's are possible.

On an average fishing day expect to catch 15 to 30+ Carp ranging in size from mid-teens to the upper 30 pound range. The best times to come and catch Carp are from May to October. There is a slow period lasting from the end of May to the beginning of June when the Carp are spawning and you might only catch 10 fish a day. We offer the traditional Carp fishing from shore with rod pods and 11 and 12 foot fishing rods. You can also try float fishing with lighter rods and lines. You might also want to try boat fishing for Carp. We also offer Predator Fishing from a 20-foot Tracker Tundra equipped with all of the modern electronics and a 200HP Optimax outboard. The Predator Fishing includes Northern Pike, King Salmon and Walleye (American Zander). In the Fall, Perch fishing can also be included in the Predator Package. Our Perch average in size at 1 pound with 1.5 pound fish being common.

All fishing will take place on lakes ranging from 1300 to 14 000 acres in size unless you choose the Predator Package, in which case you will be fishing on the 153-mile long Lake Oahe (Missouri River Reservoir). While Carp fishing from shore you will be the only people fishing for Carp; there will be no competition! We generally fish in manicured state parks complete with picnic areas and barbecue pits. We also have two very nice golf courses within miles of town.
